Heidi's grandfather lived on an alpine meadow high in the Swiss Alps.
Aim-uncle, as he was called, would not associate with anyone. But when Heldi
came to live with him after her parents' deaths, she soon found her way into
the gruff old man's heart.
Because Aim-uncle would not send Heidi to school, she was taken back to
the city where she became a companion to Clara, a wealthy little girl who
was lame. Heidi learned to read and Clara learned to laugh. But Heidi longed
for the mountains, her grandfather and her friend Peter who herded goats.
"Heidi is growing weak from home:
sickness," said Clara's grandmother. "She must go home to her
grandfather."
This time Heidi climbed the mountain to Alm-Uncle's house accompanied by
her friend Clara. "We've come back to live with you," cried Heidi.
And there in the mountains in Switzerland, Heidi and Clara grew strong. See
their adventures in these lovely View-Master 3D scenes.
